This is the Microsoft's most portable wireless notebook mouse that connects directly to a Bluetooth PC without a transceiver, freeing up USB ports for other devices.

Great on Windows but a non-starter on Mac OSX 10.6

This mouse works great on my Windows notebook. I have no complaints there and would recommend it highly. However, using Mac OSX 10.6 (aka: Snow Leopard) on my 13" MacBook (black body; generation 2,1) the device cannot be discovered by the MacBook and I have not been able to set it up manually. Microsoft does say it supports only up to version 10.5 on OSX. Buyer Beware!

Nice mouse...if your Mac is setup for it already

I purchased this mouse to replace my mighty mouse that finally bit the dust (ribbon cable fell apart after the umpteenth time I took it apart to clean the scroll ball). I got this one on the cheap, and so far it is working out fine. My only issue is that Mac users who don't already have a mighty mouse will not be able to set up the buttons for this mouse on their Mac (no scroll click and no back button). If you don't have a mighty mouse or access to one I would stay away from this mouse unless you can find some other way to set up those buttons.

Decent BT mouse for the price

I've been using this mouse for about 6 weeks now. For the most part, I am happy although there are a few things to mention. The battery life isnt that great so its important to turn off the mouse when not in use. My previous mouse, the microsoft wireless 3000, had excellent battery life regardless if I turned it off or not therefore I got into the habit of not turning it off as a result. Well, the BT mouse will eat up your two triple A batteries pretty quickly if its not turned off. The "back" button on the left side of the mouse is also a small issue for me. Occasionally my thumb will accidentally brush up against this button activating it. the button is a bit sensitive, I suppose. Overall, I'm happy especially since now I dont have to use a USB port as I did with the 3000 version.

I wanted to love it...

This mouse connected immediately with my MacBook Pro. Yes, it's a nano sized mouse, but was still comfortable to use. Yes, it did become disconnected when sitting and the computer went to sleep mode, but re-connected quickly.

The problem was the battery life--after 3 weeks, it went dead. But when I put in fresh batteries, I couldn't get it to reconnect. The battery light kept flashing, even with 2 different sets of fresh batteries. I should have taken this as a sign to just get a refund, but I requested a replacement. The batteries lasted 5 weeks for the replacement (but no connection problems when I put fresh batteries in). I sent it back--there's just no point in having to replace the batteries once a month.

Too bad--I liked it otherwise.

Mouse.

Works great. Wish I could remember to shut it off. It kills batteries when you do not shut it off.
