Just when you thought iMac had everything, now there’s even more. With the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 2GB of 800MHz DDR2 memory standard, and Mac OS X Leopard and iLife ’08, it’s the ultimate all-in-one. iMac packs amazing performance into a stunningly slim space.

I was a PC user until I got my iMac.
This iMac is great, just great. I've had mine for quite some time now and I love it because it has remained fast and without any problems.
I use it for writing, searching the web in multiple pages and tabs, Photo Shop and all related photographic or graphic uses, video making and editing, etc...
It simple and it works just great straight out of the box.
I strongly recommend it.

Horrible Customer Service and Worthless Warranty - Apple Case # 13588253

My 24" I-Mac, with upgraded video card and 4-gigs of memory, kept locking up on me and finally died after just 13 months (two months longer than my free I-pod touch that came with it which is another story). After three calls to Apple, it was determined that it was not the upgrade to snow leopard OS causing the problems but that it was a hardware failure. Apple care made the appointment for me to take it into an apple store; however, I was told I had to wait two days for an appointment to take it in. Why couldn't I take the same day is beyond me. My defective I-Mac is my main computer and I am an online student that needs a computer.
At the appointment, it was determined that the logic board needs to be replaced. I was promised it would only take 5-7 days to repair it but it actually took 8 days! May I remind you that this is my main computer that is also my only TV using Eye TV3 and HD USB tuner card (which works great).

When I got the I-Mac back, I found out that they didn't change the logic board as promised, but switched out the video card. Two days after I got my machine back, it once again started locking up. I have contacted Apple Care once again and after two calls they agreed it was a hardware issue.

A second trip to the apple store at Millenia Mall was made. They again agreed that it was the same hardware issue and stated the new video card they just installed went bad. I was told that they couldn't fix my computer because the store was about to be remodeled and that I needed to take my computer to another apple store. They supposedly "fixed" my problem, right? Then why am I being sent someplace else?

I asked to speak to the store manager and talked to Chris Warmington, the Assistant Manager at Millenia Mall in Orlando. He explained the same thing to me saying that their store is closing and I need to take it to another store.
I have already spent five hours trying to get my computer in for repair and already struggled with my online classes having no computer for two weeks! It was horrible knowing somehow that their customer "dis-service" is going nowhere. The only reason they agreed to try to fix the computer before store closing was because other customers were starting to agree with me. It might hurt their current sales. I was told that they were going the extra mile to help me but that I may have to pick up the broken computer when they close to remodel for a week.
At this point, I asked for a replacement or a refund for my purchase. I had been without a computer for two weeks and it was going to be even longer! Chris Warmington said that APPLE WILL NEVER REPLACE A COMPUTER OVER 90 DAYS OLD REGRADLESS OF THE REASON OR REFUND THE PURCHASE PRICE. At the end of the week, the store called with good news. They have delayed the remodeling of their store so I would not have to pick up the unit. But there is a problem. The part that they needed was classified as "restricted part" and did not know when they could get it in. I asked for an upgrade to my video card to another one that was in stock but was told that there were no compatible cards.

I again asked for a new computer but was told that "APPLE WILL NEVER REPLACE A COMPUTER OVER 90 DAYS OLD REGRADLESS OF THE REASON." I now asked for a loaner computer so I could complete my online class. Chris said, "We have meet all obligations under apple care agreement and will repair it as soon as we get the part. You're welcome to take your I-Mac if you don't want us to repair it at this time." I told him it doesn't do me any good when it was nonfunctioning to complete my online class. I had to stay extra hours at work to have access to a computer for my online classes. This is time lost with my family because Apple doesn't care that I have not had a working computer for over a month now and cannot get a date when I will get it back.
I do not recommend Apple products. Go for PC! Apple products may be nice when they work but if they break, don't expect apple to care or to do anything for you.
[...]. I will never buy another Apple product.

Over priced here.

Great computer worthy of 5 stars except this model is last years model and its replacement versions direct from Apple cost less and have double the ram and bigger hard drives. This machine aught to be priced around $1000.

Up until 8/22, I would have rated my 20" imac as 5 stars. Then the screen turned black. There is no easy way to hook up an external monitor with the built-in monitor dead. PC's have keyboard functions that can be used. I understand lcd replacement is $900!!! Not happy with short LCD life. I would be happier if there was a way to bypass built-in screen. Consider apple care if you have all your eggs in this relatively expensive basket.

super fast PC, love everything about it, garage band is a nice feature if you are into music, you can be a one man band. iphoto is easy to use and makes keeping your photos a snap.
