I installed 4GB of Crucial RAM on my 15" MacBook Pro and all seems to work well. It's been installed for about four weeks now and there haven't been any problems - a good sign given that I've had computers crash on me before after installing new RAM. All in all, the new RAM seems to be working well. I notice a difference in terms of the computer performance, and the price wasn't too bad.

Perfect for Macbook Pro 13"

Ordered a base model 13" Macbook Pro and bought this RAM to toss in myself. Simple installation, no issues, somewhat noticeable improvement in speed, boot times, etc.

Definitely recommended if you're looking to upgrade your MBP.

Bought this for my 13 inch unibody MacBook. Price was excellent, installation was simple. A great buy, simple install. Have the right kind of screw driver available, you can also get one at Amazon cheap.

A Must-have Macbook Pro Upgrade

First off - to me, 5 stars are reserved for an absolutely flawless product, buying and usage experience. So my 4 star rating breaks down like this:

Pros
- Relatively cheap way to improve gaming (Win7x64 thru Boot Camp) and Audio/Video editing in Mac OSX. Certainly cheaper than going to a genius bar and letting them put 4GB in there for you!
- Easy to install upgrade (4 mins max)
- No stability issues so far

Nitpicks
- It's 1066Mhz not 1333Mhz RAM. This is important only to guys like me who aren't afraid to OC or tweak FSB in Windows (which has proven to be really safe and cool BTW). CL7 is also slower than desktop RAM, SODIMMs in general can't keep up with desktop RAM speeds.
- Crucial's plastic casing for this kit may be efficient for them, but it's a bit much for consumers IMO. I kinda miss the good old days when you would get RAM in anti static baggies and bubble wrapped.
- It's not 8GB. [[Soapbox Time]] I know, this isn't a review for the 8GB kit, but I hate the games RAM mfr's play on consumers. 4GB is enough for most, but I do a lot of AV editing and more RAM equals more work done in parallel - the price of this RAM makes it a "wait and see" upgrade path to 8GB down the road. I get the price strategy, I just don't like it. I know companies can make fast, large solid state memory devices devices cheaply (MP3 players, SSD drives, etc.). So why does the system memory upgrade business jerk us around? [[/Soapbox]]

Final verdict - if you can't afford (or don't need) the 8GB kit, this is the way to go. If you're doing any kind of gaming in Windows or OSX, check into a 500GB 7200 RPM HDD as well.
